How small, insignificant and full of our own self importance.

I wonder if they celebrate Christmas out here.

So this is Christmas, as I get older I can't understand what all the fuss is about.
Buy, buy, buy, there's only one winner or should I say several and I expect they'll be counting their seasonal profits on board their luxury yachts somewhere in the Caribbean. Or maybe China !

I am now a statistic, I am now officially unemployed. I now have to 'sign on' every 2 weeks for a 'Job Seekers Allowance', what ever that is.
The whole point of me taking voluntary redundancy was so that I could think about doing something that I would enjoy but I can see that I'm going to be pushed back towards the computer industry so that someone in the JobCentre can gain points. Had enough of the rat-race, and I don't want to work 'til I drop, I am nearly 49 and have no intention of starting a new career.

It's Yule Tide night in Largs which means some of the shops stay open late and the staff wear funny hats and smile a lot. People will buy things that they could have bought during the day but for some reason it's different at night.

Pamela and I got back home on Monday night after spending the weekend in London. The 'Basement Jam' in Pete's studio was.......F*****g Brilliant !!
Pete was in good for form with his banter especially during 'Blue Red & Grey'.
I got to chat with Simon and managed to ask Pete's guitar tech a couple of questions while he was working. More details of the gig can be found at www.petetownshend.com
Here's some pics of Foy, Simon, Rachel and Pete. Sorry Mikey, I didn't get any decent pics of you but I enjoyed the set.

Off to London tomorrow for a couple of days, it's one of favourite places. I'm staying in Richmond which is an area I've never been to before, supposed to be full of rockstars and TV personalities. I'll probably walk past anyone 'famous'. TV people always seem to be very small but I suppose they have to be to fit inside the TV set !!
Attending a webcast at Pete Townshend's studio on Sunday night which should be good. A room full of bloggers !

Here's a couple of pics from a vist to a very hot Paris in September. The spiral staircase is in the Arc de Triomphe.
