There was a heavy snow fall last night, the first for some time in Largs. I went out for a walk into town this morning to pick up the Sunday papers and the snow is right down to the high tide mark on the shore, lying quite thick. It's already begining to thaw now which is a pity 'cos I like walking in the snow and when it freezes it can be good fun on the mountain bike.

On my own this week while Pamela and Stephanie have a holiday in Connecticut, apparently it's like Spring over there.

I was watching a program about Creationism being taught along side the Theory of Relativity in some schools. In the particular school that was featured the head teacher confessed to taking the Old Testamant as fact. This sudden rise of right-wing evangelism in our society both in politics and our everyday lives is becoming a concern for free thinkers and those against censorship.

Thank God I'm a devout Atheist !!

Banjo arrived on Wednesday so it's been like 'Deliverance' for the past couple days. Just to add to the authenticity I'm going to shave off one eyebrow, buy a rocking chair for the deck and turn the back garden into a swamp.
Now, let's see if I can make those hogs squeal !!!!

Bloody freezing here because of the wind but it's dry and sunny, no snow like some other parts of the country.
My daughter is 18 this month so as a birthday treat she and my wife are off to the US next week to 'hit the shops' !
I'm still struggling with the mandolin and have already ordered the next instrument which is a banjo, I'll need to stop this.
Heard on the news that Gary Glitter has been sentenced to 3 years imprisonment in Vietnam. I just can't understand what goes on in these guys' heads. My impression is that there are two kinds of paedophiles, those that know what they are doing is wrong but can't help it and realise they need help, and those that don't see anything wrong in what they do.
